The video background tool processes a clip frame by frame and provides person segmentation, foreground-point fallback and chroma-key modes. Background replacement and edge controls can be previewed before export.
How the result is produced
- AI mode estimates a person mask for each frame and applies threshold and feather controls to the edge.
- Foreground mode uses multiple selected points to guide local subject segmentation.
- Chroma mode removes pixels near a selected key color with tolerance and softness controls.
- Frames are redrawn to a canvas and recorded to a browser-supported output stream; transparent export remains WebM.

How to verify the result
- Watch fast movement, hands and hair at normal speed and frame by frame.
- Preview against contrasting light and dark replacement backgrounds.
- Check audio, duration, resolution and playback compatibility after export.
Known limitations
- Segmentation quality drops with motion blur, occlusion and backgrounds similar to the subject.
- Transparent video support is limited; WebM is used because browser recording support is strongest there.
- Frame-by-frame processing is CPU intensive and is best suited to short clips on desktop.
