About this tool
What this tool does
The audio converter handles common audio formats and can extract audio from supported video files. Output settings expose format, quality and bitrate so the user can make an informed size-versus-quality choice.
How the result is produced
- Files are processed by FFmpeg WebAssembly inside the browser.
- Presets cover MP3, WAV, M4A, AAC, OGG, Opus and FLAC, with a custom extension option for supported codecs.
- Bitrate and quality selections are passed to the relevant encoder when the format supports them.
- The source is not sent to a Toolsaly conversion server.
Good uses
- Extracting an audio track from a short video
- Converting voice notes for editing or sharing
- Comparing compressed and lossless output formats
How to verify the result
- Listen to the beginning, middle and end of the exported file.
- Confirm duration, channel layout and loudness in the destination player.
- Use WAV or FLAC when another editing pass is planned.
Known limitations
- The first conversion downloads the FFmpeg engine.
- Large or long media can exceed mobile browser memory.
- Transcoding a lossy source to another lossy format cannot restore missing detail.
